If you ask Belle Ford what kind of music she makes “ its like a conversation on the purpose of life in a club at 3am”. Eerie sounds and lo-fi sensibilities connect themes of in her words “whats wrong with her and society.” Describing the enigmatic rising pop star’s personal brand is deeply reflective and honest, yet undeniably relatable, genre defying electro pop.

Growing up in Germany, the 22-year-old singer-songwriter and producer was destined for pop stardom long before she could embrace it. In the confines of traditional German education, her path was money and business-oriented. She had a fascinating creative vision ever since a young age, was strongly opinionated, and as a middle child, needed to be heard. Through small things like art class, singing lessons, and music. She escaped societal norms and felt empowered to live her creativity. Studying Fashion Psychology in London she produced her first single, “Maybe I’m lost forever” in her student bedroom, which got immediate attention from “Cult style Magazine” featuring her in their best new coming artist column. After her first single, she experienced a dramatic loss and realized that her path had to be changed because life is, too short, so she dropped out of uni to become the star she knew she was, destined to be.

Her music is genre-blurring and has influences of Electro Pop (Billie Eilish) combined with melancholy layered vocals (Lana Del Ray), but is primarily Belle fords style, which is characterized through unique song structures, and catchy lyrics. Her debut E.P ‘Watch me’ featured multi-platinum producers such as Cashmoney Ap, Youngkio, and Alecto, proving the potential already apparent.

The songs “Money” and “Oh boy” both encapsulate something quite different from what is, roaming through mainstream Trap and Pop. She produces a genre-defying sound by combining Trap beats with soft vocals truly setting the songs apart. Her latest single, “Cat Call” discusses the objectification of women and how they don’t dress pretty for the male gaze but rather for girls, so they think: damn, I want to be her friend. It’s about girl power.

Belle Ford creates beautiful, imaginative music with a deep message. Having finished her bachelor’s in Music Production and Sound Engineering at the prestigious Electronic music school Point Blank, she is soon set to make her imprint on the music scene.

Lots of love
